Custom Tattoos With a Clear, Collaborative Process

A good tattoo should feel considered before the first line is made. At Forest Hills Tattoo, we work with clients who arrive with everything from a finished concept to a few saved references and a general direction. We help turn those ideas into artwork that fits the body, suits the chosen style, and still feels personal years from now.

Our work includes sleeve tattoos, fineline pieces, realism, color tattoos, cover ups, and piercing. Every project starts with a conversation about placement, scale, style, reference material, and expectations. We would rather talk through the details early than rush a design that is going to live on your skin.

A Queens Studio Built Around Thoughtful Work

Forest Hills Tattoo was founded by Queens artist Adrian Morales after years of working around New York studios and seeing how much the client experience could vary. Adrian wanted to build a place where strong artwork and straightforward communication mattered equally. Forest Hills became the natural home for that idea: it has the neighborhood feel he grew up around while sitting close to the many communities that make Queens what it is.

Today, Adrian works alongside tattoo artists Lena Park and Marco DeLuca. The three bring different strengths to the studio but share the same basic approach: listen carefully, design for the person in front of you, and never treat a tattoo like a rushed transaction. Whether the appointment is for a small fineline piece or the beginning of a full sleeve, the goal is the same level of attention.

Why Choose Forest Hills Tattoo?

Designs built around your idea

We use your references as a starting point rather than something to copy line for line. The final design is developed for your body, placement, and preferred style.

Clear conversations before tattooing

We discuss scale, placement, detail, color, coverage, and session expectations before the work begins so you know what the project involves.

Different strengths under one studio

Our artists work across fineline, realism, color, sleeves, and cover ups, making it easier to match a project with the right artistic approach.

Respect for long-term results

We think about readability, aging, contrast, and placement instead of designing only for how a tattoo looks on the first day.

What People Ask Us

How do I start planning a tattoo at Forest Hills Tattoo?

Send us your idea, placement, approximate size, and any reference images or style notes you have. We can use that information to discuss the project, determine the best next step, and explain whether a consultation is useful before booking.

Do you create custom tattoo designs?

Yes. Most projects are adapted or designed around the individual client, their placement, and the way the artwork needs to sit on the body. References are welcome, but they are used to communicate direction rather than to reproduce another artist's tattoo.

Can you work on large projects like sleeves?

Yes. Sleeve tattoos are planned as larger compositions and usually require multiple sessions. We discuss the overall theme, existing tattoos, major focal points, transitions, and long-term plan before getting too far into individual elements.

Do you tattoo clients from outside Forest Hills?

Yes. We regularly serve clients from nearby Queens neighborhoods, including Kew Gardens, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven, Elmhurst, Rego Park, and Briarwood.
