Forest Hills Tattoo is a small team with complementary styles and one shared standard: understand the client's idea, make smart design choices, and give the work the time it needs.
Adrian founded Forest Hills Tattoo after years of tattooing around New York and developing a strong interest in large-scale composition, black and gray work, and cover ups. He grew up in Queens and still sketches most mornings with coffee before studio hours, often working out sleeve transitions and larger body-flow ideas by hand.
Lena focuses on fineline, botanical, ornamental, and smaller illustrative tattoos, with particular attention to spacing and placement. She studied drawing in New York and keeps a running reference notebook of leaves, flowers, storefront details, and patterns she notices while walking through Queens.
Marco works heavily in realism, color, portraits, and image-driven custom pieces. A longtime Queens resident, he is the person on the team most likely to arrive with a folder of lighting studies, movie stills, and photographs because he enjoys breaking down how contrast makes an image feel dimensional.
We start by understanding the project rather than immediately trying to schedule it. The artist looks at the idea, placement, approximate size, style, and reference material, then identifies any decisions that need to be made before the tattoo is ready. Small projects may move through that process quickly. Sleeves, realism, and cover ups usually benefit from more discussion.
Once the direction is clear, we build the artwork around the body area and the practical needs of the tattoo. We communicate when a design should be larger, simpler, darker, or arranged differently, and we explain why. The goal is not to overcomplicate the process. It is to make the important decisions before they become permanent.
